Presentation
CESAMO is the analysis platform of the Institute of Molecular Sciences (ISM, UMR 5255). It offers analytical solutions to ISM researchers as well as to many academic research structures at the Aquitaine site. The creation of a transfer cell : CESAMO-Tech also makes it possible to offer private laboratories (SMEs/SMIs or even large industrial groups) technical support in molecular characterization.
NMR
The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is a non-destructive spectroscopic technique, universally used in chemistry in order to obtain qualitative or quantitative information of a sample.
Mass Spectrometry
Mass spectrometry is an extremely sensitive chemical analysis technique used to detect and identify molecules by measuring their mass.
X-ray diffraction
Single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) is the reference technique in structural crystallography.
Skills
The main activities of CESAMO concern the chemical analysis and structural characterization of organic compounds and are related to the major fields of chemistry (organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, polymer chemistry). CESAMO’s know-how is also used in more precise fields, most of which are of interest to the local companies (agrifood, flavors and fragrances, wood chemistry, oenology, materials, photochemistry, etc.).
The main activities of the platform are as follows:- Development of analysis methods using mass spectrometry, NMR and / or X-ray diffraction.- Active participation in research projects through collaborations (ANR, research contracts, etc.)- Training mission for internal or external users in the various analytical techniques of the platform.- Resolution of analytical problems or identification of products coming from public or private sector laboratories which cannot have access to this type of expensive equipment.
